Tokyo Disney Sea: Magical New Year

1 Janvier 2010

I LOVE Disney ♥!

It was never a childhood thing. Disney came into my life when I turned into an adult; when i turned 21. Yet I love Disney! As magical as it can be, it brings you into another world, a world full of imaginations coming to life. And here we are, at another part of Disney – The Tokyo Disney Sea continuing our magical journey at Japan and perhaps ending it in a few hours time.

We missed the Disney Resort Line almost a week before while we were at Disneyland. This time round, we took a ride even though we could walk there.

PhotobucketAs meticulous as it can be, any possible objects are places are infused with Disney; mostly mickey (explains why i like Mickey now! ;P as they bring back the sweetest memories!)

World in my hands!

Despite being the most important festival of the Japanese, Disney Sea felt more crowded than ever! I’m just wondering why are they not at the temple praying or spending time with their family members but at Disneyland & Sea. Oh well.

And did you know, this was again a treat from vampy (oops, even though coz i requested and was initially reluctant to spend on Disney again). We bought the Starlight Passport since it was almost 1+pm when we reached. Precisely why you are seeing the sunset since night is gonna fall in another 2 hours time.

Tower of Terror ♥

I made a promise to take the best ride first.. And according to Vampy who has already been to Disney-anywhere, etc countless times, he told me the Tower of Terror is one of the better rides. And…we went for it. As clueless as i am, I thought the ride was gonna be as friendly as what I experienced at Disneyland..

The story goes.. how a hotel owner suddenly disappeared on one night. And one of the most amazing thing in there is the ghost that looked so real yet it’s actually a non-object. What we have seen are all light actually! Amazing technology!

What lies within the tower was totally beyond my expectations. It’s my favourite ride of the 2 disneys! Albeit being scary (to me).. and I had to close my eyes after the first rise and fall.  The ride took us high up all the way to the tower and it plunge us ALLLL the way down!! My heart almost jumped out but it’s a beautiful beautiful ride. At the top of the tower/ride, a small window opens up to the WHOLE view of Disney Sea and perhaps a lil of land..(might be too small/far though). And since it’s almost evening at 3+pm, all the lights lit up and it was sooo beautiful. SO beautiful to the extent, i had to ask Vampy if that was a picture, or a video or sorta thing. – you know what i mean. And i was told it was REAL. That scene soooo beautiful. Unfortunately for the subsequent views, I closed my eyes as i just needed that to continue with the thrill. hahas.

But it’s really awesome. I loved it ..though im kinda scared..  hees.

The queues for most of the rides requires us to queue around 45 minutes and above. ;( So we only managed to take 7 rides out of the many!

20 000 Leagues Under the Sea

If i’m not wrong, this was our second ride as it was one of the least crowded. This is one relaxing ride as we are sat in a 6-seater submarine that ‘goes deep underwater’ through the various advantages of the characters. There were instances when the submarine felt like it has crashed onto something, etc. Another wonderful stimulation of under the water. But actually we didnt go underwater at all. All we had was a wiindow filled with water and bubbles but was enough to give one the illusion of plunging into the deep sea. That’s why I appluad the wonderful art of stimulation…!!

We were deceived by the watercrafts, thinking that we can drive our watercrafts on our own. Only to realised that it was all automated when we got on it. So we can only sit as the ride take us along on the ‘fixed route’. The colourful lights did make the ride alil more attractive though.

Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull

This was where we get to see the tools used in Indiana Jones.. i think. Getting alil confused already. anyway, as it was supposed to be a ride of adventure, this is one bumpy ride that could easily jerk you from left to right, up and down…so, be prepared to be seated tight to prevent getting hit on the knees or elbows or sorta.

Raging Spirits

As the name suggests, this is like an angry ride. It was said that it was full of vengeful spirits awakened during the excavation and the burst flames. The mood was aptly highlighted by the speed of the ride, the burst of flames and perhaps, really.. the 360 degrees loop. This is no huge roller coaster ride but i feel scared, ya’know? I never fail to close my eyes, grab the handle tight, and bury my head as closely to my chest as possible when you put me in such a ride. The odd thing is..I enjoy it! But i just can’t see it. Sick, yupps. i know.

Sinbad Storybook Voyage

This was the queue-free ride! So we went in ..trying to see if it was really so boring as it made Vampy fell asleep the last time. But now…i hate Sinbad!! As it was New Year, there was supposed to be fireworks and coz vampy told me Sinbad is a SHORT ride..we went ahead first.. who knows..it was so long:(((. And we missed the fireworks!! ;( Imagine..fireworks at Disney! :( (

The daylight us.

Journey to the Center of the Earth

This, i think is the the scariest ride..my second favourite? This ride took us high above the volcano you’ve seen on top and and and go right down into the CENTER of the Earth!! I almost lost my heart on the way down. But it was so fun!

PhotobucketI think this is……ehhh, Indiana Jones? Oh no, i forgot! ;p

Anyway, we had Curry Popcorn along our rides ;p wonderful snack!! Wanted to try Black Pepper popcorns too ..too bad we didnt have a chance to find another cart selling that. Oh and the hot spicy chicken leg was heavenly in the cold and hunger!! Yuuuummy! And that’s all we had for dinner, wonderful stomachs we have! LOL.

Disney Sea is definitely much more adventurous and thrilling compared to Disneyland which is soo princessy. UNfortunately, we cant finish all the rides… So sad.. I really wanted to sit on the Vernice Gondola quite badly! Oh well, I will return!

In any case, really really wanna thank Vampy for a wonderful day yet again. I was always said to be not cherishing what i have. I know this dude is such a good boyf that i have no idea how i’m gonna find another one like this..So why am I not cherishing?  It’s really sad to leave Japan..and the next day…we made our way to the Narita Airport..flying home with real mixed feelings..

I miss Japan so much that i feel the urge to fly there again.

  1. Looks fantasitc….. we’re looking for somewhere to take our son (in summer – August)… do you think that this is a good place to visit? I had to laugh (sorry) when you said how you had come to Disney as an adult of 21. Ahhh – I smile when I think how long ago that was… though I’m sure there’s a sigh somewhere deep inside.

How were the queues?… this is an important thing for parents worried about their children (as compared to the young and adventurous).

Also – hmmm – I wonder about your questioning the “cherishing” part… our hearts are not matters of “will” or “will not” but rather do, or do not. You know what you want – and it seems to me that you are happy. Not everytrhing needs to be questioned….

  2. Hey,

It depends on how willing you want your boy to take those thrilling rides! Disneyland is more mild, probably more suitable for the kids.

Then again, if he’s really brave, he can go for the wonderful rides @ Disneysea. If not Disneysea also has mild kiddy rides!! – which i didnt had time to sit on. lolx

and yes…i didnt have the chance to travel overseas when i was young. My parents dont bring us anywhere. So naturally, i missed alot as a kid. hahas.
