East Meets West

Daylight was welcomed together with the sound of raindrops. It was freezing in the room and I had to dry myself up as quick as possible.

The remnants of the night’s enjoymentPhotobucket

I had been looking forward to the breakfast, one way or another, everyday I walk past Oscar’s at Conrad in the morning. It just feels particularly different to be having a lazy breakfast according to your choice and preferences before returning to the room and laze or do anything you want..

Photobucket

Azur Restaurant

The highlight of the breakfast was not the food but in fact the luxury in itself. And of course, the sweetness of going for breakfast hand-in-hand.

Photobucket

The interior was of cool and dark lighting. Feels classic.

The Egg Chef

Vampy was  happy to see this Egg chef, i supposed. Since he’s so into eggs these days (but terribly bad at breaking eggs). The chef is there to fulfill your wish of ANY kinds of egg that you can name i think, according to guests’ preferences. And he’s really quick at the eggs, i guess that makes him the Egg Chef..

Omelette with Ham, Cheese and Mushroom

I went for an omelette with the respective fillings mentined above. The omelette was quite a disappointment to me. there were still residues of the watery egg on the plate.Photobucket

Salted and Peppered Scrambled Egg

The scrambled egg was better done but the man didnt enjoyed his breakfast as what I expected as he was still sleepy. hahas.

As I say, the highlight of the breakfast does not lie in the food. I mean, how far can breakfast go right? With eggs, flour and juices. But I love this kinda morning once in a while..

Last Breaths

And as I view at the lobby of Crowne from the second floor for the last time. I absorbed the last breaths of the hotel’s clean air, tainted with a faint hint of carpet and the guests’ fragrances. Ahhh~

Photobucket

Artsy Goodbye

The checking out was dramatic from the time when I signed off my bills for the weekend’s celebration to the time we left the hotel.

The numbers were shocking; coming up to a higher-than-expected three digit cost. (hehs, just joking. To make Vampy feel bad ;p) The numbers were shocking. Yes. But not because they were too high but rather they came to a surprising reasonable amount for a day and a night worth of romance, fun and get-away.

And the drama occurred when we were collecting our birthday cake back home. As the bellboy carried the cake out without any paper bag..I requested for one and he took such a small one and almost attempted to put the cake sideways in. When told that the cake was actually from the Lobby Lounge and they might have a bigger paper bag, he made great efforts in trying to place the cake into the now-appropriate paper bag. And suddenly?!!!!

He dropped the cake!

But Crowne Plaza was really nice that they replaced the cake for us. A shocking moment but it didnt spoil the times we had :)

11 Julliet 2009

Following the taking off of the SIA plane, the silence that we once had returned. Simultaneously with the fading off of a light but fatigue ’human noise’, I hear only my own heartbeat.

In faithful companion of the heartbeat, the mind continues to poke itself into another window which still actively lies in the windows of memories. Still fresh, near and real. Though my mind has taken a toll in the process of planning for this 24hours celebration, it refuses to take its well-deserved rest. A part of me knows that with a shut of the eyes and a distancing of soul away from the conscious world would welcome the ending of what was so cherished today. Daylight has never felt so dreadful before….

But that was not just all. My stomach refused to grant me a peaceful night of sleep too. After the intoxication by the white wine in the evening and perhaps the mix with the food, the stomach is in a constant churning motion, causing discomfort.

Photobucket

The Peak..

Indeed.. time flies when they are good times. The times when the vain couple bathed in the most wonderful bath tub, changed into their dinner clothes and groomed themselves.

The laughing at ourselves coz we are so silly. The decision to have in-room dining, beside the tall glass..with the view of the runway… in the world of our own music sounds like the best idea for the night. Yet, we still meticulously groomed ourselves.

On a positive note, it’s good that both of us are vain so that we probably stay good on the external for a longer time. ANd there wouldnt be complaints of overspending time on grooming?

Photobucket

Chardonnany

Dinner was cool with our wine. Probably the first. Sends the usual flush of redness to the birthday boy…..

Photobucket

The birthday boy (in advance) browsed through tthe menu with great difficulties making decisions. Crowne Plaaa offers a extensive choice and a good mix of local, western, french and probably chinese as well.

Needless to say, the lady made the call for the order of the night. For the usual things done by him should be taken charge by me as he simply need to sit back and relax.

Photobucket

The delivery

A lady pushed the trolley into our room cautiously as she avoid knocking onto the couch just in front the bed. Set against the tall glass window which allow us to look at the planes, the dinner was made romantic with the rain outside. Yes, as much as we can’t hear the rain… the visual falling of droplets onto the glass is another form of romance in itself.

Photobucket

My Pasta – with Ham, Mushroom and Beef

The lady did not have a craving for meaty beasts so she settled on the Aglio Olio pasta with personalised toppings; ham, Mushroom and Beef. The pasta was quite well done but I wished the beef were more tender. Not a super pasta to rave for though nice.

Photobucket

Cream of Mushroom with Garlic Croutons

The man begun his dinner with The Cream of Mushroom soup which argubly could be the best dish for the night. Complemented with Garlic Croutons, the soup stood out to be different.

Photobucket

Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb

Tasted as appetising as it was made to sound. The lamb doesnt reek of the usual lamb smell which i hated. It’s quite a nice dish. I’ve hardly tried crisp lamb. The Rack of lamb came with a crispy crust of herb on it and beneath it laid the commonly used potato.

Just as Vampy revealed his potato underneath, he begun his cheekiness on wanting to explain to me why the potato was placed below the meat (in this case, lamb) even though he knew he has told me umpteen times on this already.

Photobucket

Duo Foie Gras.

Named this way because it has 2 different parts of Foie Gras and are also cooked in different ways. I still very much prefer the pan-seared Foie Gras. The variation of texture (crisps and melts) always ensure a high satisfaction.

Nevertheless, I have to say that Le Saint Julien Foie Gras was at least 2 times more premium than the night’s Foie Gras. (Yes, I miss Saint Julien’s Foie Gras!!!)

In-room dining has held a meaning for Vampy. The isolation and luxury. We all know that there wouldnt be another time or rather a ‘as and when we like’ time that we could dine in our personal ‘restaurant’. It was an obvious sign that the dinner was enjoyed to the fullest as Vampy voiced his appreciations again and again. ;p

Photobucket

The elation was also seen in the wildest singing and ‘drama’. Ended with Vampy’s mad singing, I reckoned that he must be somewhat high!! Bringing the night’s dinner to an end with his instructor waves.

The lady, known for her sneakiness, placed the birthday card on the bed without being found. The unusual looking bed was only after a while whenVampy wonders around the room before the dinner. The realisation of an envelope carefully written with “Specially for Vampy Jer” on the bed. It was really sweet to see him taking such efforts of mine in elation when instead of opening the card hurriedly, he went ahead to take the camera and took down these surprise moments for him. It was a hint of appreciation..for me.

Photobucket

As expected, a smile broke out on his face when he saw the cover of the card. I was glad to see this expression. I took about a week to find to the card close to my ideal! It wasn’t just a simple card. It was a card to evoke cheekiness, smiles and interest. Even for a card, I want to it to reside in the cellrooms of Vampy’s prisons – Locked.

Photobucket

The inside for the deceived.

Photobucket

Yes. This is the SEXY cover… ;p

Deliberately chosen to complement the man’s cheekiness, outrightness, shallowness, love for boobs and fun.

(hmmm, doesn’t it sound like SOMEBODY?!)

The phone rang about half an hour after our dinner. The Front desk called, looking for Miss Lim to confirm the night’s surprise. Probably the last I have for Vampy… Indeed, Crowne Plaza took pride of my arrangements and regard each of their guests’ requests as important and tries to deliver it as close to our expectations as possible.

At the point of the phonecall, I was already spinning in my own world with the intoxication of the white wine. I tried hard to remain clear-minded and arranged for an even later delivery.

Soon after, the doorbell rang with the birthday boy openning the door. I panicked in my semi drunk state of mind. Is that the room service who’s here to clear our dining table or is that the surprise? To my horror, it WAS the surprise!!

Photobucket

I begun to wonder if it’s better or not that Vampy was the one who opened the door. I thought he was expecting the room-service too. So did that give him a greater surprise? I asked myself with many questions of that sort.

Manjari Chocolate Truffle by Crowne Plaza

The birthday cake was brightly lit with the ONE candle for Vampy who looks forever young! (looking far too young for his age, hahas) With the prompt of the guys, Vampy made the wish and blew the candle in a split second.

I was like “NOOOOOO. not so soon!!! You should at least wait until they go out first! I havent even sing for yoU!!!” In that sense, i thought the guys were irritating :( But no blames for their wonderful service.

Photobucket

With the ending of my exclaimation, I begun singing Vampy’s birthday song. Feeling a lil shy, I’m so glad that the intoxication allows me to finish singing the song.

Photobucket

A really happy girl.

 Photobucket

Slicing the Darkness

The cake really tasted wonderful despite it being too big for the two of us. But to me, it was just there for the sake of ceremonial purposes. The centre layers of the Manjari Chocolate (a premium chocolate) melted into the mouth of one mixed with berries made me mistaken it as alcoholic again. The choco powder by the side gave the cake a slightly hardened texture on its side.

At night, Vampy told me his wish. It was really touching. I just feel so fortunate to have this man. Though all of the day’s arrangements were not for me, oddly, I felt touched. Perhaps my willingness to create all this romance and memories came with  prerequsites. That is – You Love the man, Appreciate the Man, Enjoy special and novel times with the man, Support for the man.

The Count at Crowne I

11 Julliet09 & 12 Julliet 09

I found myself waking up to the face of Vampy who showed signs of a sound sleep and the long-awaited stressless expression. He slept so peacefully. My eyes turned to the familiar surroundings. Slowly, my blurred glance became clearer and focused on the glass carefully glamoured by the flower petals wallpaper. The centre of the glass was not covered to reveal the bath-tub.  And yes, I didn’t forget where I was.. in fact where WE were; The Crowne Plaza.

Photobucket

Floral

The sound of a plane taking off quickly diverted my attention once again. This time, I jumped up from the undeniably comfortable king-sized bed  upon hearing the unusually gentle taking off ‘noise’ of the plane. I peered through the tall glass windows and realised that the rain has all stopped now. The planes on the runway have increased as we drifted off over the hours.

Photobucket

I took the working desk’s chair and wheeled it to the side of the tall glass. Sitting there in darkness.. relishing the scene of the runway and the memories for the day thus far.

—–

The flashback returned to the packing of our belongings for this get-away and celebration. The drive to the place.. playing suitable “saturday” songs in preparation for the celebratory mood.

Passing by Crowne Plaza, looking at the majestic eye which held its position strong, I just can’t help feeling excited while the man remained composed. I guess thats the difference between a grown up man and a young lady.

Photobucket

Greeted by a wide turning and a grey and black tiles, Vampy almost blended into the background together. This is the beginning of our journey in Crowne Plaza.

Photobucket

The blending Count.

Photobucket

The Glowing.

Myself, on the other hand, seems to be reflecting light off my body. A signal of being too fair? Otherwise known as ghostly.

I took my heavy happy-vacation bag and left for the conceige to check-in while Vampy was deliberately steered away to prevent him from hearing some of the unnecessary stuffs I had for him.

Photobucket

The Lobby Lounge – In its artsy.

I was greeted with a polite front desk offiicer followed by a Guest service officer, and specially greeted as Ms Lim.. Feel quite an honour. I was so glad that they got all my requests ready – high level, runway view, vampy 2 birthday surprises! They gave me their most delicate and attentive service.

Photobucket

Floral before the Art.

I ended my check-in and find Vampy sitting on one of the artsy couches. ( he was in his serious look again!) I led him to the lobby lift while telling him that we’ve got the 9th floor. Only to realise that that’s the highest level! I’m so thankful! The room number signals a bad ring – 911. But all we had was a blast in the room..figuratively.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Vampy Bordered by the Tropical.

Vampy finally let out a less-composed comment that the room was really nice… In awe, we explored the room; the facilities, the complimentary, the view, the decoration!

Chocolate Amenities

And Vampy was sharp. He discovered his Chocolate Amenities laid on one side of the desk. Dark and White chocolates which gave a surprise when one bites onto it. A cooling melting chocolate flow out of it. Cheeky was so gross/sweet that he passed the chocolate to me from his mouth. The melting chocolate misled me into thinking that was a hell lotsa saliva. The chocolates were also carefully decorated with raw/brown sugar.. looking really nice.

Photobucket

The Perfect Crop

The first view sights set on the Runway was soothing. For you see planes ‘strolling’ on the runway in their slowest speed & the pilots driving their way to their designated lots. When things happen without sound and observed from a elevated height, it just feels slower and hence translate into the few precious soothing moments.

Photobucket

The exploring of the room soon ended with the next anticipation coming in place. The swim in the pool designed by world top designers. Well, actually the whole hotel is.

Stepping out of Room-911, we were brought to a whole new array of view. An eye which is surrounded by grilles that  resembles a bridge on top and the roads that lead to Changi. Closer from above is the pool which looks like a maze on half of it. Sun-lovers tanning their body and holiday lovers reading their favourite books and magazines in the MOST luxurious way. It’s implying that there’s time to spare and money to spare to be reading in such a zen environment.

Photobucket

The lift opened to a chlorinated Level 3 where the pool is. There it is, overlooking the control towers and the blue blue sky. All through the eye of our eyes. The wide opening of this eye had certainly made level 3 a windy place. It was an extraordinary mix of contemporary novelty and nature.

Photobucket

The Control Tower and It’s blue backdrop.

The wind and a cloudy day has made the pool especially cold. It send goosebumps when we got into the water. The water was shallow and could reveal up to three-quarter of my not-very-long body.

Vampy was sweet to be taking photos of me first. Though he’s the birthday boy.

Photobucket

Lady on Surface

And yea. The pool was of a maze design which requires you to either waddle or take a shallow sleep to the respective squarish corners. There were a few jacuzzis available for guests of the hotel. But the Jacuzzis were just mini ones which only has one mouth of water gushing out at each spot.

Photobucket

Sight High and Above.

Floating with your face up on the waters allows one to relish the design above as well. Apparently the hotel is designed to have an eye from the 4 corners and also the top. Oh, The design of this eye resembles a bridge so i really like them!

 Photobucket

Man at Rest at the Most Serene

And I like the pool for its minimal chlorination.

Photobucket

hahas. This is my very first full bikini body shot!Photobucket

And this is one of the Jacuzzi corner. I call it the bath for the king. It really looks like one. Just that it’s lacking a whole lot of Courtesans to surround my Count. We took lotsa pictures at this spot. But i’m only gonna feature one. Will post the link to more photos soon!

sweeet. bon bon

The bonbon!!

Sweetest photo of all! Vampy trying to tidy my hair up for me!………..

 —

And yes, the first part of the memory flashed past like this. In its most simplest essence – in a familiar country, unfamiliar and new place, creating the novel memories of our own again.. My cheeks were already numb by the end of our swim. When you’re happy, you probably wouldnt realise it consciously and the constant smiling resulted to numbed cheeks.

A SIA plane suddenly took off in its most majestic roar and disrupted my reminiscing of the day. I look at the plane and smiled to myself before turning my head and look at the sleeping Vampy. I feel SO fortunate all of a sudden………….
