Down The Atrium: Saketinis & Cakes.

20 Aug 10

Friday nights are never gonna be early anymore since i’ve lessons till 9pm. But my sweetest Vampy had came all the way to school and fetch me!

We had ourselves comfortably seated at one of those red single seat sofas @ Pan Pacific’s The Atrium. Basically its menu is pretty Japanese-influenced.

Melon Saketini & Lychee Saketini

The Melon saketini was alil too strong for my liking. I prefer my drinks with only a tinge of alcohol. Lychee Saketini did the trick. It was smooth to the tongue.. THe first drink that i had that’s so smooth. Or rather, this is the first time that i understood what it mean to say a drink is smooth!.

Crispy duck rolls with sweet chilli.

A good munch for the night though it didnt come up to the way i expected it to be.

Chocolate Opera Cake with Toffee Sauce.

You can call this the highlight of the night though, a friday night. Sweet desserts lift the mood! Not too sweet yet rich and sufficiently drowned with toffee sauce, yays, i ilove this!  good recommendation from Vampy!

Baked Cheese Cake

Pretty rich and yummy but a lil crumbly! But I love how the base gives  a crunchy texture.

Hai Tien Lo: A Family Dim Sum Affair!

-Almost like a photolog -

17 April 2010

I didnt managed to find the time to document this special affair of the family. It’s a big event; i reckoned it as a significant event coz this is the first the whole family dine at a 5-star hotel restaurant togther.

It was also in celebration of my sis’s birthday. Many thanks for her generosity in paying for the parents and some of me and lyin.

The view from above

The venue? You guessed it.. Hai Tien Lo @ Pan Pacific, 37th level. This is the whole awesome view you can get there. Looking a lil too familiar to me now at this point in time since i see this everyday now!

PhotobucketTheir Menu

This is a ala-carte buffet which is the style of buffet i prefer as it ensures freshness of every dish. Was disappointed not to be able to find their speciality Bird Nest Egg Tart.

PhotobucketAwesome Sharksfin!

Right~ It’s gonna be kind immoral eating this yet I have to say it’s the best Sharksfin i ever had. The ingredients are generous and this goes down to even the crab meat. look at that! It made me have this thought that maybe Sharksfins should only be restricted to the hands of the top chef! Why waste such a precious thing on meals where the chef can’t cook properly!?

PhotobucketCereal prawns – love the cereals

PhotobucketSome Tofu Skin stuff. – oops this was alil forgetable!

This also ought to be one of the best Chee Cheong Fan I’ve eated! For my non-local readers, It’s actually rice cakes but thinly rolled up ones! This has fillings in it! And the sauce was awesome.

PhotobucketSiew Mai – it turned out just fine for me.

And I got the restaurant to arrange a surprise for the birthday gal. Look at her shocked face. I knew she didnt had this kinda ‘surprise’ before so it’s my obligation to give her one since im quite experienced in this!

polaroids..sis & bf, & 3 sis!

This blog post is simple. Light on the reviews of the food but more of how the family had spent time together. The daughters realised that the parents had worked too hard their life and still can’t bear to eat better food, wear better clothes, live a better life that they deserved. Dad had a heart attack and an operation in Feb. That was a wake-up call. We were extremely afraid then. Honestly, at 21.. i dont feel any ready for the ‘bad news’. So we wanted to bring them to better places, delight and pamper them with experiences they should be exposed to.
