Silent 21: Tampopo & CafeIguana

12 June 2009

Hand-in-hand, we left the house, we walked down the stairway towards the car, having Tampopo in mind.  Silence need not be defined by the non-vibrating sound waves but instead can be characterised by sound waves whose hearts can’t get close to hear each other. Time after time, I disliked speaking what issues bothered me. My idiosyncracies; for speaking at the point of unhappiness is like asking for a mistaken treatment by the Physician, stepping on the toes of an injured and screaming ‘no’ when you meant ‘yes’

And the impatient thoughts jumped at him. The rapid and relentless questioning of ‘what is it exactly?’ is like the waves hitting on the shores. Also, ironically, he is like a fisherman who patiently fishes. Fishing out the truth and reasons in this case. And, I’m grateful for this!

Reaching Tampopo, we joined the queue of hungry diners. Tempted by the various delicious looking display outside. When led to our seat, I was already determined to let myself try their signature Ramen, Shabu Ramen. The emphasis here is ‘Black Pig’.

The signature dish, Shabu Ramen, definitely deserved to be raved about! Served with rich soup boiled with the essence of the BLACK PIG. Nicely salted and sweetened. Rather than tasting like MSG, it tasted like it’s cooked wholeheartedly with the real ingredients.

Even though I reallY LOVE the soup, the noodles are really awesome too. Springy and smooth! Didnt had the flour taste. Honestly top my Ramen list; there goes the one near Meriden. Just look at the noodles in the picture! It’s apparent that it’s bouncy, no?

And my last point is the amazing BLACK PIG. Usually for Ramen, I skip the meat coz it’s usually fatty and tough. But the thin slice of black pig used was easy to chew on and quite tasty. I actually ate most of them.

THe cheese Ton Katsu. Yea, didnt had this at Tonkichi and the man tried this. Said to have the best katsu in town. While I agree the batter of the crisp is probably better or preferred here. The meat itself …just can’t beat Tonkichi’s juiciness and tenderness.

The cheese in it taste like those used on Pizzas. Nice to chew on but the taste of the cheese, hmmm..is not really premium. Oh and the emphasis here is once again BLACK PIG.

We made our way to Cafe Iguana after the walk with vampy. Through the quiet but happening Robertson Quay and the Mohammad Sultan Road …with vampy recounting his teenage life.

We finally settled down at Cafe Iguana which we decided way before dinner. Buzzing with avid chillers and Margaritas lover, Cafe Iguana was relatively noisy. The place was finished with an easy look. Wooden tables and chairs, portraits on the walls and book-shelf like display shelfs against the two ends. Outside Cafe Iguana presents a fun and colourful arrangement; looking like the chairs and tables of a play room.

Right inside, it’s lighted with small little rectangular lamps. Of which I think resembles the festive mood.

The coolest pic of vampy. Another display picture material!

The night was quiet again between us with nobody saying anything. I dont appreciate this kinda silence. It’s either romantic nor thought-inducing. Besides awkwardness, I dont know what. perhaps I just dont know what to say. And then the man waited

All in all, a hug makes koonkoon feels good always. Always always. Arrr, I so love. My posts are always full of thanking for Vampy. I shall dismiss the thanks this time but emphasize on my sincerity in knowing how fortunate I am and how much i’m being loved. In the same way, I love this cheeky as well.

i’m addicted to love you.
These type of feelings are so hard to express.
cause everyday i gotto have you
like an addict on nicotine.
