Oscar’s: Bonne Anniversaire, Un point Cingt Année

Happy, sweet and great 1 & a half years, Vampy:D

The couple planned to celebrate their 1 and a half years of journey together at the Oscar’s at Conrad Centennial, Singapore! The crowd was remarkably more than what I’ve expected. Really feels like a busy place the moment I stepped in. Dressed in exactly what we did last year, the couple was led to the seat reserved.

This book shelf was found on the left when one enter Oscar’s. It’s an innovative way of designing the place. Adding a homely sense to this corner. Is it like the illusion of dining in a homely setting? I’ve no idea. But this and the rest of the place doesnt seem to fit into the concept, i feel.

Quite a number of chefs are there, ready to provide us with help when the guests need them. However, i would suppose their main jobs over there are shucking the oysters, help to mix the salad in the super big pot, making of waffles and scooping of ice-cream!

And Oscar’s has a open-kitchen. Besides being able to see what dishes and how the chefs are cooking up, the chefs also convenient go in and out serving and refilling dishes, especially those hot ones.

At the corner is a beverage counter which seems to be neglected by many. It’s pretty deserted, right?

And the seafood which are presented nicely in crushed ice. A variety of mussles, crab, prawns, baby lobster and crayfish! However weird it may sound, the prawns are the nicest for the day. The rest are relatively less fresh. The joy of eating these expensive creatures has definitely taken quite a plurge given the relatively drier flesh.

The man was utterly happy when he saw the loads of Oysters at one of the stations.

The buckets and buckets of Oysters. Each Bucket serves from a different country or city.

Indeed, the oysters of different nations gathered at Oscar’s. They are from french, of different cities, canadian also of various types and Australian ones. From the first plate of vampy’s oysters..I tried One from French, Canada and Australia each. And I utimatelyyy HATE one of the Australian one- coffin bay!. I had to drown myself with wasabe after having that. The french one is the saltiest of all. And the oysters are all freshly shucked on the spot after your choice. Freshness ensured! ~~

And honestly, given the amount of variety of food we have, I can only take one small piece from every dish. if not, i’ll definitely ‘explode’ again at the end of dinner! Particularly nice from here is the potato and cheese slice… :D Both the potato and cheese come in layers of flakes. But it’s one of the filling dish. Carbo~~~ The rest were fine..

hoohoo. CHUBBY.

The all-fingers attack on the seafood!

hahas, I think it takes pretty much a new level to attain a liking and appreciation of seafood which has simply been boiled before. No sauce, nothing. To only enjoy the sweetness, freshness and texture.

The noodle bar outside serves a variety of local noodles. It included Wanton noodles, prawn noodle fish noodle soup, Bak Kut Teh, etc. But I made tomyam soup as my choice coz Spicy and Sour is always always my top choice! :D

I watched the chef carefully placing the ingredients into the bowl before scooping the soup for me, w class. :D

And it tasted good.

And finally! It’s my DESSERTS time! I just cant not try any of these
Madelines..which i dont really like..;x

THIS is one of my favourite! Chocolate mousse cake. It feels utterly awesome when it melts into ur mouth together with the cake. And, its somewhat dark chocolate. That makes it triple awesome! LOVE.

This is the plate of desserts.  Specially highlighting the mango mousse cake, which is indulged with the great taste of mango and also the mousse melting texture. It was awesome too!

A special cake, i thought was the lime & Mango cake. It has a tinge of sour in it, which im not used to it. hehs.

THIS Is also what i love too. Mango pudding!Photobucket

And i decided to try their waffle. If i didnt remember wrongly, there are the vanila, strawberry, passionfruit, chocolate ice-cream and…hmm cant remember. I took my combination of passionfruit and chocolate, taking into account the colour and the taste! Honestly, these ice-cream look ordinary in the tubs. YET. They tasted extraordinary on the plate. I let out a “wow! THis is damn power!” when i took the first mouthful of passionfruit. IT has to be the best passionfruit that I ever have….it’s realllly sour. No skimping of ingredients! hehs. As for the chocolate ice-cream, the chips inside and being a dark chocolate ice-cream really made it feel more rich in taste. But it just has too many rivals out there. AND lastly, isnt my garnish pretty! Proud of myself :D

And if anyone has realised, we wore exactly the same thing as what we did one year ago. It wasnt a coincidence. In fact, we deliberately did this. Wanted to see how different we have gotten over the years, given the somewhat substantial loss in mass of the couple. Well anyway, this is funny.

And my last point is a huge thank you to vampy for all that you’ve done in the process of loving me. it hasnt been easy for you. I know that. I had fun with vampy, watching vampy gobbling down the potentially threatening oysters. And it really feels good to have someone to spoil me. Im damn spoilt. To the extent that im so ‘unbulliable’ now. Its because of too-many good times that makes me cant stand being bullied by any others. Even if i am, at the end of the day, there’s a pair of arms and comforting chest to hug me and make me feel better.

Merci, vampy.
