Vampy and I spent our 32rd anniversary at Lawry’s! This was my first time to Lawry’s since its move to the Mandarin Gallery and also at dinner time. Believing that the move was an attempt to match its grandeur ambience with its surrounding.

High ceilings, carefully selected red , brown and white had made the place poise and luxurious. And it was good that the table that we had were amply away from the other tables. Coz the ‘nicer’ sofa seats were rather close though. However, what couldnt justify its move is probably the night view the restaurant provides. Paragon and Mandarin Gallery are as good as opposite each other which means the view down is relatively similar. But well, it sure now matches its fine dining status.
Soft and fluffy Complimentary bread!

Attempt to make the bread look yummy! Think i failed though. LOL
These mini pizzas are pretty pleasant for my pizza craving that night. They come in small slices of about 3 only. Yummy, like a party snack! But Lawry’s speciality is not in this. Wait and see.
Spin to go tasty!
One famous dish of Lawry’s – the spinning Caesar salad. You may be wondering “WTH”! But yea, this is how they ensure that the salads are well-mixed by spinning the big bowl on top of that pile of slippery ice. To watch was a mini entertainment too.
The salads, turned out, to live to its reputation. Yummiest Caesar salad I’ve had. With generous pieces of bread crumbs and an unique dressing, the salad tasted yummy even though the dressing were just bits. It’s so rich that you don’t hafta drown your greens in unhealthy dressing!

Lawry’s Cut
Here we have, the highlight of the night.. for the man at least. Named as the Lawry’s cut, i assumed that this is the restaurant signature cut. Watch carefully as the chef/assistant push the cart of piling hot steak and cut them meticulously before us. Yummy as it is, it still can’t beat Morton’s steak.
Any prime rib comes with the Yorkshire Pudding whjch i like! It tasted remotely like our french toast here. But it’s really yummy when dipped onto the sauces available. And needless to say, that was one of the ways to fill yourself quickly (one of the ancient ways too, i think).
;p
Surf N Turf – Pan seared beef tenderloin with vodka béarnaise sauce and succulent crayfish with pink pepper melted cheese. Accompanied with US asparagus and mashed potatoes
I gave the prime ribs a miss coz i wanted a mix of something else since i just cant take that much of beef. Intrigued by the menu’s “vodka bearnaise sauce” and “pink pepper melted cheese”, i can’t help but wanna give this a try especially more so when im a sauce person who loves to have lotsa sauces on my food and try special sauces. The beef tenderloin though small, it was really thick. Oh,but i think the cheese sauce with the beef is nice too though. ;p. I liked the crayfish. Fresh and yummY! And yes, i ended up being very full at the end of the meal again!
VAMPY.
All i’ve got is nothing without you.
