He never fails. He never fails to bring on something new, something good..something romantic.
He takes so much effort in planning each special day that we are gonna have together. And I know..I’m always so lucky. To have such a man who believes in the true meaning of romance..who aims for the ideal whenever possible.
I was brought to Pierside this year.
. It’s once again in the One Fullerton Area..and this man is so worried that constantly bringing me to the same area will bring me disappointment. *Silly man ;p. As usual, I didnt managed to get my guesses right. My umpteen number of guesses which goes from alphaphets to alphaphets have got me lost all the way from R, C, O, F….
A familiar turn in was made into Fullterton’s carpark and given that, I have a good idea where we are going but never certain about the exact restaurant we are heading to.

And as we walked nearer to the final destination, I have to be convinced that he wasnt lying earlier on when he gave a hint that the place starts with a “P”… I was assuming that he was being lame…as every PLACE starts with a ‘P’.. And I was wrong..
Vampy reserved an outdoor seat but I was still given a choice after that.. I made an indoor choice as I thought it was kinda nice inside..
The lil menu which is of a postcard size was brought to us by the ‘man in red’ after that. The Valentine’s day menu is a 3course meal..at a whooping price of 150bucks+++..which was obviously over the budget I wanted the man to keep to.
Simple & Contemporary Interiors of Pierside.
The interior design is nothing fanciful. Its main highlights of the room will probably be the mirrors, the water-droplet like lamp and the furniture which nicely complements the orangey light shining from above. I requested for a seat that’s near a mirror (best tool for narcissistic people.. ;p)
With the seafood platter and desserts fixed for the night, we were left to decide on each of our main course.. The man who has a strong craving for seafood..wanted almost entirely a ‘seafood’ night tonight if he had successfully ordered the Salmon.. Being a very nice boyfriend, he gave in by allowing me to order the Pan Roasted Tournedo of Salmon with Asparagus Brussel Sprouts knowing that the girl here has little desire in having the beef for the night after having one at Le Saint Julien not too long ago. He took the Braised Grain Fed Beef Cheeks with Mustard Mash as a result..It was quite a long wait before the man in red came to take our order for the mains..
The bread and complimentary Salmon was nevertheless served quite quickly after our order were being taken.

I love this bread…sweet and crispsy on the outside..Goes very well with the butter:D Vampy was trying to get his perfect cuts on the bread….seems to fail until his very last one. hahas. I probably did a better job than him on my first attempt. But just as I was going to show him my success on the cut by squeezing the bread such that the hole in between can be seen…he deemed me as failed coz squeezing destroys the shape of the bread…
The seafood platter was nicely arranged occupying the centre of the plate. Each of them came in pairs. The favourite of ours of this seafood platter has to be has to be the Tunisian Baked Canadian Scallops. The cheese and flakes of chilli powder covered on top of the spongey, juicy and huge scallop was never overwhelming that it taste only of cheese but gave a rich creamy, saltish and spice finish to the already nice scallop (it doesnt has the usual scallop SMELLl) ~Slurp! And not only was that the favourite of the Seafood Platter…it was our favourite from Pierside!
The Smoked Tuna seems to be the hidden treasure here. Until some of the food are removed, we didnt know or at least i didnt know that there were 2 pieces of it lying down there, waiting to be savoured.. And amazingly it was highly attuned to my liking since i usually have no particular liking for Sashimi kinda stuff. The smoked top and the combination of a smooth texture.Nice.
The other fresh oyster is utterly fresh to just slurp it off the shell. With just a lil’ sauce on top of it with its natural seawater…it was nice. But the second try of it, just after Graze has proven myself that..not all good food can be enjoyed w equal comfort by the poor stomach.
The other mussels came with chilli and lime sauce. Yummie. I love the sauce with it.
The very last that i ate was fried oysters with a lil of chilli sauce on it. A good awaking for the taste buds~~ That was nice as well. but not as nice as my lil’ cute scallops. hahas.

One in Mirror, A couple together
Some of the weird things we did while we watited for our mains..! The multiple tries of trying to get a couple pic off from the mirror. And even trying to get an illusional kiss from it. It ended up we have a funny pic whereby my lips got extended and I looked like a Monkey!
Pan Roasted Tournedo of Salmon with Asparagus Brussel Sprouts..
A pattern which I observed: Last year at Morton’s Steakhouse, the man had the beef which was AWESOMELY unforgettable and the lady had the salmon too. At Pierside, I think they serve a tastier salmon than Morton’s probably with a Raspberry nutty sauce. Less healthy but nice. Would love it more if…the Salmon is a lil less dry. ;D And the portion is a lil smaller.
Braised Grain Fed Beef Cheeks with Mustard Mash.
“Grained Fed”..I supposed that meant either its healthier or the beef flesh would taste better. But it seems like the shreds of potatos stole its limelight…at least for me. They were kinda amazing…taste a lil but like chips even though they werent fried exactly to its hardest form…The beef itself, being the cheeks part was really less tough than the other parts though.

But i’m glad that Vampy likes the beef over the salmon, since he gave up the salmon to me!

And lastly,the desserts yield a more than satisfied finish to the meal. The presentation was nice, but it taste nicer. We began from the scoop of Macademia Ice Cream which had bits of Pistachio under it. The second WARM CHOCOLATE TART we ate was utterly the best of all. Baked in a way like its those melting chocolate cake..this was a tart one with chocolate oozing out of it..running very close to Morton’s choc cake!! WE LOVE IT!. and i wanna have it again! >< The chocolate Macaroons with salted caramel was alil sweet for liking but the chef actually added fruits into the sweet, sticky and hard caramel which had made it slightly better. And it was really hard to cut into the Macaroons…it was hard as hell. Thank you vampy for helping me to cut and cut
White chocolate Panna Cotta is a lovely moose texture dessert with lotsa berries (including strawberries) on top of it!!.. Really like how the combination of sweet and sour fruits with the soft and smooth moose… ;DDd
It’s a question…where we will end. But as we are now, I think Vampy deserves a very good hug and maybe better luck. A very big thank you for pampering despite being stuck in bad times for the longest time. When 2 person get together, it gonna be an adaptation to his and her habits together. It’s a matter of whether their habits and personality can match together. It’s also a factor of effort and beliefs. All of it doesnt even sound that hard in the first few months of a relationship..but when a relationship gets longer…it seems like the good has became the bad. Or was it just a change of mindset? The couple had it well. It still looks like a weird case…when we havent really quarrel before..
When couples get together..they have to have some form of an accomodation to allow another person in. Who is..in this one?

But we dont necessarily conform.
Started with a Perfect Kiss then, we could feel the poison set in.
Perfect couldn’t keep this love alive.
